Consumption of Oils

by Michele

I have been advised to take 1 tablespoon of coconut oil and 1 tablespoon of fish oil 3 times per day.

I took the two oils together pretty easily but have felt sick since. I have vomited 3 times and still have that oil taste in my throat, despite drinking and eating to get rid of it.

Please advise me how to take these oils in these quantities without feeling and getting sick! I am not allowed dairy.

Thanks,
Michele

Hi Michele,

Some people simply have difficulty digesting oils, especially when taken directly.

First, I would suggest that you don’t take the two oils together. Give at least one hour between them.

Use coconut oil for all your cooking. Coconut oil is the best, most stable cooking oil there is. This way, you won’t have to take it directly.

Never use fish oil for cooking. Its weak molecular structure will break down before the temperature even reaches moderate heat.

Include the two oils in your meals, beverages, etc. Maybe the added food/drink will be able to counteract the discomfort it brings when taken alone.

Bottom line? Give ample time in between taking one of these oils at a time, and mix them in your food/drink to further lessen the possibility of causing discomfort.

Hope this helps,
Frederick
