VCO and RBD
by Gaba
Hi,
VCO is very expensive in my country. Hence, I’m considering mixing VCO with RBD. What’s your view on this mixture? Any suggestion on the ratio of VCO and RBD?
Thanks.

I see nothing wrong in mixing Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) and Refined, Bleached & Deodorized (RBD) coconut oil.
Due to the refining process, RBD may no longer contain phytonutrients like antioxidants found in VCO. But it essentially has the same amount of Medium Chain Triglycerides (MCT), which is the most important thing. MCTs are the powerhouse nutrients behind coconut oil’s amazing ability to boost your health.
MCTs are also very durable saturated fat molecules and can withstand heat very well. For this reason, RBD is considered a healthy oil. When you add RBD to VCO, you are simply increasing the MCT-content. That’s all. Any ratio within your budget will do just fine.
All the best,
Frederick
