Massaging Into My Skin and Hair?

by Anonymous

I would like to know when and how much coconut oil to massage into my skin and hair. Should I do before a bath or after? Should I do it everyday and what benefits should I expect?

Hi,

How much coconut oil to use depends on the length and thickness of your hair. Don't forget to massage the oil deep into your scalp. A tablespoon or two for short hair should be enough. Longer hair will obviously need more. Apply a generous amount, but not dripping wet...

For best results, massage coconut oil before going to bed and leave it on overnight. Use a covering to avoid staining your pillows, etc. You can also do it before or after a bath. It's up to you. The idea is to keep the oil on your hair and scalp for at least an hour or two.

Yes, you can do it everyday. The results will be that much better. Some of the benefits of using coconut oil on your hair and scalp are smooth, soft, shiny, manageable hair and dandruff-free, itch-free scalp. Don't be surprised if you grow more hair...

Massage coconut oil on your skin everyday for best results. I do it twice a day. The best time is right after taking a bath as your skin is dry. Ironically, right after a bath is the time when your skin is at its most vulnerable.

Remember, the fatty acids in coconut oil are smaller compared to other oils so your skin will absorb coconut oil faster than any other oil. It's much better to apply small amounts of coconut oil several times per day. Doing so in one big application will only over-saturate your skin and the excess oil will go to waste.

Using coconut oil for your skin will give you supple, smooth, young-looking skin. Coconut oil is an excellent skin "exfoliant." It's very good at helping shed dead skin cells.

Hope this helps,
Frederick

Bye Bye Cold Sore
by: Terri

I just want to say I am a believer in virgin coconut oil and am spreading the word. I originally bought it for my newborn niece. I read about other mothers using it for cradle cap, skin scratches in the face, and even as a bum cream.

I did some internet searching and found your page so I started using it on my face and so far I love it. I was nervous to use it on my face but it soaks in so nicely and leaves my skin soft.

Three nights ago, I felt a tingle and a bump on my lower lip. I immediately ran to put coconut oil on my lips and I couldn't believe that by morning, nothing had developed! For the first time my cold sore didn't develop.

Even using medication at the first tingle, my cold sore would still develop and be unsightly. It would help it go away faster but coconut oil stopped it in its tracks!

I am going to start eating it everyday and using on my entire body and hair too.

Hi,

After the fantastic results of coconut oil on my hair, I have started using it on my skin. I use it in the evenings after my evening bath....

Due to being an outdoor girl here in hot South Africa, I do have skin that has been over exposed to the sun, resulting in freckles.... And a very dry area on the tip of my nose.... Coconut oil has helped in such a short time compared to the years and years of expensive skin creams and moisturizers.

I purchase my coconut oil in Mozambique by the liters for next to nothing.... I can truly say coconut oil is fantastic!!!!

Regards,
Mandi
