Gunking Up the Sink Comment & Questions

I’ve been incorporating many of your suggestions into my daily routine since discovering your website about a week ago. I’ve been washing my face with the coconut oil, and it feels amazing. I’ve also started brushing my teeth with coconut oil and baking soda as you suggested.
The thing is, the sink is then awfully greasy. It’s no problem cleaning that, but I’m concerned that the oil is also gunking up the plumbing pipes?
I was wondering if you think it’s a good idea to buy coconut oil liquid soap and use that for baths/showers and also for a mild shampoo.
By the way, Kosher soap is made of coconut oil.
Hi Amy,
If gunking up the pipes concerns you, then it’s fine to use coconut oil liquid soap for showers, etc.
I have been using a Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) bar soap and coconut oil-based shampoo for several years and I have never encountered any problems with our plumbing system. And the house I live in is not new at all. So, I believe the oil won’t mess up your plumbing pipes.
I wish you all the best in your coconut oil journey. May you continue to be amazed…
Hope this helps,
Frederick
