Doesn't Seem to be Helping

by Sylvester
(Wakefield RI 02879 USA)

Been using coconut oil and milk for two weeks and see no change in my energy level. I had my gallbladder removed many years ago and wonder if that makes any difference.

I have read that coconut oil is made up of medium chain fatty acids that are digested and utilized differently and do not circulate in the bloodstream like other fats but are sent directly to the liver where they are immediately converted into energy, just like carbs.

How does this affect the liver’s job of producing bile which is needed to digest other fats? Can this be a problem?

Coconut Oil is Pro-Energy
by: Frederick

Your missing gallbladder, at the very least, affects your energy level. It causes bile to become diluted, thereby decreasing your body's ability to effectively absorb and digest fats. And fats are a good source of energy.

Your liver immediately converts medium chain fatty acids (MCFA) abundantly found in coconut oil to energy to help power metabolism. MCFAs afford your liver to rest from its hard work by shouldering some of the load and providing it with a constant supply of energy. Coconut oil enhances your liver's production of bile.

Your body does not need bile to digest coconut oil, one of the many reasons why coconut oil is a very good source of energy.

Do you exercise, Sylvester? Are you eating the right foods for your unique nutritional type? The diet that works for you may not work for me, and vice versa. Do you laugh regularly? Stress can burn your energy to the ground.
