Hello,

I'm already skinny as it is. I'm scared if I start having Virgin Coconut Oil for all other reasons apart from losing weight. Would I actually become prone to losing any weight at all drinking this?


Hi Marianna,

No, you will not become prone to losing any weight at all taking Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO). I, too, am skinny but VCO did not make me lose any weight at all.

Research have shown that the less body fat you have, the less effect VCO has on stimulating metabolism and burning up calories. VCO provides a quick source of nutrition. Medium-chain fatty acids (MCFA) generously found in VCO have been routinely used in hospital and baby formulas.

Because it enhances the absorption of nutrients in foods, VCO has been recommended in the treatment of malnutrition. MCFA-rich VCO has been given to severely underweight or malnourished infants.

If you're overweight, VCO helps you lose excess weight. If you're underweight, VCO helps you gain. Overweight or underweight, VCO added to your diet will help you achieve the ideal body weight that is best for you.

I'm skinny, too, always have been. I had the same concern when I was considering taking coconut oil regularly. After almost five months of swallowing three tablespoons of virgin coconut oil (VCO) everyday, I'm not getting skinnier. On the contrary, I even gained two pounds so far.

I'm 5'6" and weighed 94 pounds before VCO. Five months into my VCO journey, I now weigh 96 pounds and have full of energy. I was a skeptic at first but now that I have experienced it first-hand, well, you can say I'm a believer.

VCO for weight loss? More like VCO for weight management. Because if you're overweight, it helps you lose some. But if you're underweight, it helps you gain some. Amazing...
