100% Coconut Oil Soap

I found a recipe for cold-process soap using 100 percent coconut oil with 20 percent superfat. Will this have a coconut aroma? What type of coconut oil should I use if I want some coconut aroma in this soap recipe?

Hi Bill,

If you want to keep the coconut aroma of your cold-processed 100 percent coconut oil soap, you’re going to have to use unrefined of Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO).

VCO is minimally processed to retain that fresh coconut scent many are looking for. While refined varieties are basically scentless and tasteless.
