Normally appearing on the face, particularly around the mouth, cold sores or fever blisters or herpes labialis is caused by the herpes simplex virus (HSV).

Medical research has identified a number of viruses that are inactivated by medium chain fatty acids (MCFA) plentifully found in coconut oil. And the herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1) is one of them.

Apply virgin coconut oil (VCO) to the infected area as soon as you feel the blister starting to form. For best results, use a coconut oil bandage to make sure the injured spot is continually in contact with the oil and consume the maintenance dosage.

I’ve read on an online encyclopedia that there is no cure for herpes simplex virus outbreaks. That it’s inevitable for some from time to time. Hmmm...
