As early as the 1980s, researchers learned that medium chain fatty acids (MCFA) abundantly found in coconut oil were able to destroy the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV). San Lazaro Hospital in the Philippines is the site of the first clinical test of coconut oil on Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) patients in 1999. 14 HIV-infected patients completed the study which lasted for 6 months. None of them could afford or ever received anti-HIV treatment. To summarize, 8 of the 14 patients had a decreased viral count. 11 regained weight, indicating health improvement. This initial trial proves that coconut oil does have an antiviral effect and can beneficially reduce the viral load of HIV patients. Interested in Buying Coconut Oil?
